Welsh 2 Day Enduro goes a step foreward for safety of partecipants

Llandrindod, GB

This year Welsh 2 Day Enduro goes a step foreward for safety of partecipants, with a full 500 machines and many marshals out and about, the W2D has a headache trying to keep track. A new method of monitoring is being trialled this year with the assistance of the ACU and Burt Hughes of RallyMoto.

Course openers and closers, together with selected riders through the entry will carry transmitters which will allow the Event HQ to monitor the locations.
This has been used effectively for some time in big bike events, but this is a first for the enduro.

Clerk of the Course Phil Wilkinson said “this is a trial to assess the viability of tracking each rider in future, we need to keep abreast of the available technology to enhance rider safety”
(There is no truth in the rumour that with such technologies at his control Phil will be wearing a black outfit and Darth Vader lid....... )
